From www.habitatomaha.org“Seeking to put God’s love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope.” In 2014 Habitat for Humanity of Omaha will complete up to 50 homes.  Homes are built with donor contributions, volunteer labor and donated materials. The families who partner with us are required to work up to 350 hours of Sweat Equity on the homes being built. Their monthly mortgage payments are then used to build more homes. With his “All that ever was, always is” project, Watie White is working in collaboration with Habitat for Humanity to bring attention to the blight and poverty that grip areas or North Omaha. By transforming several condemned homes into massive public works of art, Watie will bring attention to challenges in the neighborhood, change perceptions about blighted areas, and directly engage community members to affect change from within.

During this tour of the neighborhood around Emmet Street, Amanda and Watie will talk about how Habitat is working to rebuild the community while supporting the people who live there.
